New for SPS - Highly complex connectors for industrial control systems
20. October 2011
This year's SPS will be opening its gates in Nürnberg on November 22. ODU, the connector specialist from Mühldorf, will also be presenting its wide range of products at the trade fair. Among other products, ODU's range also includes highly complex connector solutions for industrial control systems.
The application-specific development for an industrial control system shown in Figure 1 is not a connector in the normal sense, but instead an I/O unit with pluggable modules. The configuration can be deployed as either a centralized or decentralized system. ODU participated in the development of the pluggable components and constructed a total of 21 tools for the solution. ODU developed the terminal block with a "push-in termination system" that allows a very high packing density in the most compact space. Terminal cross-sections from 0.08 - 2.5 mm² can be easily inserted and disengaged again.
Additional features, such as the widest range of coding options at either the factory or the customer, are also available. Thanks to the extremely complex contact geometry, even the most comprehensive requirements can be satisfied. The second unit supplied by ODU for this complex system is the complete top-hat rail mechanical system with the locking system and through-connector with bus and power contacts.
Those looking for connectors for demanding applications in automation will find that the connector manufacturer from Mühldorf is the right partner. ODU offers standard and application-specific solutions in this field. ODU's booth at the trade fair will present the proven product series, in addition to the latest innovations.Curious?
